After sitting for 8 days in Ohio during the rut, I finally got an opportunity on the morning of day 9 at a big 11 point Jay had been hunting all season. The buck kind of snuck in on us and startled me cause when we fist saw him he was at 20 yds already. I took the shot at 14 yds and ended up high centering him in no man’s land. It was a heartbreaker but we got pics of him on trail camera a couple weeks later which made me feel a smidge better.

I could also pick a half dozen bear hunts that definitely have had their fair share of epic moments .
Who introduced you to the outdoors and/or taught you how to hunt? I wasn’t brought up in your typical hunting household . My parents weren’t hunters , I had a couple older fellas that would take me in the woods. What is the biggest buck that you missed? Tell us about one that got away: I hunted a 180+ buck , for 3 years , countless hours and miles spent in the woods chasing him with only one encounter coming on the 3rd year on December 12th. Late season , cold weather, I thought I had him. He came in from directly behind / below me never presenting me with any kind of a shot . At one point , he was 15 yards . I watched him walk out of sight , and the following year he was killed on the road locked up with another buck .

The old heads ( Josh and Jay ) don’t have the eye sight that they once had!
Who is the best with a shotgun and why? I’m going to give this to Jay, because he uses one the most.
Who is the best with a rifle and why? I’ll give the nod to Josh , because of his military background.
